India's Ultraviolette Reveals 265 KMPH Electric Motorcycle, the F99!

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette has introduced its latest creation, the F99 electric motorcycle, at the EICMA 2023 event. This marks Ultraviolette's entry into the world of racing motorcycles, and the F99 promises to be an impressive addition to their lineup.

Key Features of Ultraviolette F99 Electric Bike:

1. The F99 electric motorcycle is equipped with a liquid-cooled powertrain that can achieve a top speed of 265 kilometers per hour (km/h) with a curb weight of 178 kilograms.

2. The race-spec version of the F99 features a new liquid-cooled motor, producing 120 bhp (90 kW) of maximum power, a significant improvement over the F77. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 265 kmph.

3. The F99 features advanced aerodynamics, including winglets and ducts on the front cowl and side panels, which increase downforce during cornering. These components actuate electronically in real time to adapt to different tilt angles.

4. This fully-faired electric motorcycle has a futuristic design with sharp panels, carbon fiber elements and an integrated air windshield. It also has two front cowl ducts to flow air towards the motor, improving its performance while riding.

Ultraviolette's global launch plans:

Ultraviolette intends to launch the F99 sportsbike globally in 2025, marking its presence on the international stage. The company has said that the F99 factory racing program will not be limited to just racing but will also include a production version, which is expected to hit global markets in 2025. Estimated price is around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).

In additional news, Ultraviolette Automotive has announced the upcoming availability of the F77 electric motorcycle in Europe. With registration opening on November 15, 2023, the European version will be priced between 9,000 and 11,000 euros. The European-spec F77 shares similar performance figures to the F77 space version, launching in August 2023.

The F99 is clearly designed for track use, with slick tyres, a mirrorless design and no provision for a registration plate holder. Its striking appearance takes inspiration from fighter aircraft with prominent winglets and distinctive ultraviolet lighting.

Notably, the F99 is significantly more powerful, faster and lighter than the Ultraviolette's previous road bike, the F77, which counts actor Dulquer Salmaan as a proud owner.
