Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has released its August 2023 sales report, indicating a strong performance in the domestic market with a slight decline in exports as compared to the same period last year.

Domestic Sales: In August 2023, HCIL achieved strong domestic sales of a total of 7,880 units. It registered a growth of 1.43% as compared to August 2022 during which they registered sales of 7,769 units. Notably, sales increased significantly month-on-month, from an impressive 3,016 units in August 2023 to July 2023, representing a remarkable growth rate of 62.01%.

Exports: During August 2023, HCIL exported 2,189 units, showing a marginal decline of 7.09% as compared to the same period last year, when exports reached 2,356 units.

These sales figures underline the strong demand for Honda vehicles in the Indian market. The impending launch of the Honda Elevate SUV has raised a lot of anticipation and is expected to further boost the company's sales. The demand for SUV segment is increasing in India and Honda's entry is awaited in this category.

Mr. Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Limited expressed optimism about the exceptional sales performance. He also expressed confidence on the upcoming launch of Honda Elevate, emphasizing on the strong demand due to the festive season. Mr Murata anticipates that the new SUV will become an important addition to Honda's lineup, complementing their bestsellers, the City and Amaze sedans.
