GMDA Transfers 30-acre Land to NHAI for Kherki Daula Toll Relocation

The Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram, India, is set to be shifted to Panchgaon, as the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) aims to transfer about 30 acres of land to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) within the next month. This strategic move is expected to reduce traffic congestion and pollution on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.

Following the recent decision by GMDA to transfer about 30 acres of land to NHAI, the proposal to shift Khedki Daula toll plaza to Panchgaon has gained momentum. The process started almost six years ago when Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the possible relocation during a public meeting in Badshahpur on August 14, 2017. The condition of this move was that the Haryana government would provide free land to NHAI for construction. Toll Plaza.

GMDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PC Meena on Thursday confirmed that 30 acres of land acquired by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) for the proposed toll plaza construction has been handed over to GMDA. Meena said, “We will hand over the land to NHAI in the coming days free from any hindrance, as this 30-acre land has been transferred to GMDA. The shifting of toll plaza and construction of new toll plaza in Panchgaon is being done by NHAI. Will be done by.”

According to a letter issued by the project coordinator in the GMDA, on November 24, the GMDA authorized its revenue officials to take possession of 30 acres of land in Panchgaon from HSIIDC.

Meena stressed that shifting the Khedki Daula toll plaza will significantly reduce traffic congestion, especially on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. He said that the removal of toll plaza as well as opening of Dwarka Expressway will facilitate smooth movement of vehicles, which will benefit the passengers traveling to the developing areas, Manesar and beyond. Additionally, the move is expected to reduce pollution.

In May of the current year, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced active efforts of the state government towards removing the Khedki Daula toll plaza. He referred to discussions with the Union Transport Minister and said that toll charges are not an important issue for most people, indicating that removing toll barriers is being actively considered.
