Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 22 National Highway projects in Mysuru Karnataka. These projects spanning 268 km and valued at over Rs 4 000 crore aim to enhance connectivity and streamline traffic flow in the region.
Among the initiatives is the Huliyar-KB cross-Chunchanahalli-Nelligere road designed to improve connectivity between Mysuru and North Karnataka. The completion of the Mysuru Ring Road equipped with service roads is expected to alleviate congestion and ensure smoother traffic movement.
The 4-lane expansion of Belur-Hassan and Yedegowdanahalli-Bilikere road along with the installation of road overbridges at Hangarahalli and Holenarasipur bypass is anticipated to reduce travel time by a significant 2 hours.
To decongest Hunsur Town a major bridge over Lakshmanathirtha River is being constructed demonstrating a commitment to streamlined urban planning. Additionally the development of Srinivasapura and Chintamani bypasses aims to reduce congestion in both cities.
The inclusion of major and minor bridges along with road-over bridges on railway-level crossings underscores a concerted effort to facilitate unhindered traffic movement in the region. These projects signify a comprehensive approach to infrastructure development and traffic management in Karnataka.
