Gadkari approves Rs 344 cr for Mangaluru-Tumakuru highway expansion.

Bookings have commenced for the Honda NX500 adventure tourer in India, with interested buyers able to reserve the bike at Honda Big Wing dealerships by paying a booking amount of Rs 10,000. Positioned as the company's mid-capacity adventure tourer, the NX500 is expected to be priced below the recently launched XL750 Transalp.

Filling the void left by the discontinuation of the CB500X, the Honda NX500 distinguishes itself as a purposeful adventure touring bike. Its rally-bike style fairing, tall windscreen, and ergonomic seating position contribute to its distinctive appearance. The bike's accessible seat height of 830mm enhances its appeal to a broad range of riders.

Beneath the bodywork, the NX500 features a diamond frame and is equipped with a suspension setup comprising a USD fork and a monoshock. The bike rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels fitted with block-pattern tires. Braking responsibilities are handled by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. Powering the NX500 is a 471cc parallel-twin engine generating 47bhp and 43Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of features, Honda has incorporated a decent amount of equipment into the NX500, including a five-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and navigation.

The Honda NX500 is set to compete against rivals like the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Moto Morini X-Cape. Enthusiasts are hopeful that, unlike the CB500X, Honda will price the NX500 competitively, aiming for a range around Rs 7-7.5 lakh.
