BMW M4 CS is shown with 550hp.

BMW has expanded its CS line-up with the addition of the powerful M4 CS, joining the M2, M3, and M5 variants. This new model boasts increased power, reduced weight, and an upgraded chassis aimed at enhancing straight-line speed and handling on the track.

The M4 CS packs a twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six engine, boosting its horsepower from 530hp to 550hp compared to the standard M4 Competition. Despite maintaining the same torque output, the CS sustains peak torque for longer, enhancing performance across the rev range.

To withstand track sessions, the powertrain underwent modifications, including improved cooling and oil supply to the clutch. Stiffer engine mounts improve responsiveness. Moreover, the CS sheds 20kg thanks to a titanium exhaust and carbonfibre-reinforced plastic components.

With its lighter weight and enhanced engine, the M4 CS accelerates from 0-100kph in 3.4sec and features improved chassis dynamics for better steering precision and wheel control. The stability control system intervenes less, allowing for greater driver control.

Equipped with staggered lightweight wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the M4 CS achieves an impressive Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7min 21.99sec, nearly 6.8sec quicker than the M3 CS.

Visually, the M4 CS sports distinctive yellow-tinted daytime-running lights, red-outlined grille, and exclusive paint options, paying homage to BMW's GT race cars.
